Shaky Leg Syndrome

Introduction
A condition of turkeys with a course of often 3-4 weeks, possibly associated with tendon injury. Morbidity is 10-20%.
Signs
- Stand on toes shaking.
- Shaking or quivering of legs after rising.
Post-mortem lesions
- None.
Diagnosis
Clinical examination, exclusion of other problems.
Treatment
Multivitamins, aspirin may be helpful if locally approved.
Prevention
Care in transport of brooded poults, releasing poults into larger areas and in handling heavier birds.
