Mode of Action
Oxidation is a series of complex chemical reactions. The INITIATION stage involves production of "free radicals". These reactions are catalysed by the presence of metal ions such as copper and iron, often found at high levels in animal feeds.
Oxigard binds these ions thereby rendering them unavailable to trigger the initiation reaction. The complex formed is easily metabolised in the digestive system of the animal.
Oxigard will stem the PROPAGATION stage of the procedure by preventing free radicals from reacting with each other and hence forming peroxides and hydroperoxides, and ultimately the toxic end products - aldehydes and ketones.
Oxigard's components act SYNERGISTICALLY and it has been shown that its formulation will perform much better than single or dual antioxidant products.
Oxigard has been specifically formulated to achieve the best SYNERGISTIC effect for cost effective protection against oxidation in feeds and feed ingredients.
Application
- Normal feeds: 125-250gms per tonne
- Feed premixes: 250-500gms per tonne
- Oils & Fats: 125-500ml per 1000 litres
In unfavourable conditions or where target products contain harsh, aggressive or susceptible materials, the inclusion rate should be increased.
